Flickr is a really good web site for photographers like myself to interact with other photographers and get our work seen. I will be uploading different types of work that we have done over the last few years.

One of the problems in being a photographer is that clients quite often associate you only with the type of work that you do for them. Here it is, the second installment of The Great Northern Cook Off ‘Heats’ at South Trafford College. Now it is time to see if our teams have listened to the chefs and can turn out the dishes as they were intended.

SDC's Production of 'The Full Monty'

It must be about 6-7 years now that I have acted as photographer for the Southport Dramatic Club who run The Little Theatre in Southport. Over this time I have built up a huge collection of images. Some are taken during the dress rehearsal ‘live’ performance, some are staged as photo opportunities and the rest are head and shoulder portraits; ‘mug shots’ as the actors like to refer to them. These images are usually shot on the dress rehearsal night. I then process the images, email a selection off to the printer (Mitchell and Wright in Southport), email a selection over to the local newspapers and the SDC’s web site. Finally, a selection is made to print out for Front of House display and for the advertising board in the street.

We had a busy few day’s filming and photographing “The Great Northern Cook Off” heats. The event organised by Inspiring Events of Altrincham is now in its second year. The opening heats gave teams their first chance to do battle in the kitchens of South Trafford College. Contestants had a one hour demonstration by Chef’s Thomas Ludecke and Stephen Heaton, on how to prepare the 3 course set menu on which they would be judged. Read the rest of this entry »
